Take a look at the different areas I work on here!
|
Everything I work on ultimately comes down to the fact that I'm fascinated by ideas and ideologies. Where they come from. How they change. And why we believe in them (or not).
I study them using tools I've learned from several academic disciplines across the humanities and social sciences — above all sociology, political theory, and history, with some elements of philosophy and psychology as well. I also draw on my experience of working in public policy and strategy — watching and taking part in the processes by which public institutions develop visions for society, and how they put them into effect in our everyday lives. I've written books, articles, and reports on topics such as national strategy, UK–EU relations, how skills boost productivity, the history of social democracy, Universal Basic Income, and how to make democracies more resilient against the threats they face.
